Hey everyone! Here’s an update on the kickstarter! We’re 20% of the way to our goal and have just pushed through the first week of the project.
From a momentum standpoint most kickstarters experience a lull for weeks 2-3 and then there’s a concerted push to the end.
Even though I KNOW this I can’t help but experience anxiety about making our goal. Especially since this project is so near and dear to my heart.
There are still parts of me that are looking at the success of the project as a reflection on the worthiness of Mastering the Game of Allyship as a whole.
If any of you have done some of the work you’ll know that “I’m not worthy” is one of the self sabotaging beliefs that keep people from showing up as effective Allies. And as we push into the second phase of the kickstarter I get to practice in public the things that this book is designed to help solve.
Peer to peer outreach has been the backbone of this project. Diversity and inclusion projects and Allyship in general suffer from over saturation. Most people overlook projects like this one because of a sense of hopelessness.
There is so much that’s possible to do and the feeling of significance and impact keeps people from getting their hopes up.
The fear of being disappointed at one’s ineffectiveness has stopped people from taking the necessary steps to make meaningful change in the lives of others
This is why Mastering the Game of Allyship focuses on helping people design Allyship practices around fun and ease.
If you’re Allyship is based on fun and ease then it’s impossible to fail. You’ll have a limitless source of motivation.
And so my challenge to you all who’ve backed the project already is to respond to this post with fun and easy ways for you to reach out to others and get them excited about the project.
